Colliers International Tapped to Market 1.1MSF I-57 Distribution Center

Colliers International was recently selected by Canadian-based Dalfen America Corp. to market one of the largest available distribution facilities in the country – the 1.1 million-square-foot Interstate 57 distribution center – in Marion, Ill.

Originally built in 2000 by IDI to serve Circuit City Stores, the distribution center was later purchased by Dalfen once vacated.  Charles Canale, Steven Kohn and Dave Gannon of Colliers’ Retail Supply Chain Services Group are responsible for marketing the property.

“With a distribution property of this magnitude, the location is a prime marketing amenity,” said Gannon with Colliers St. Louis office. “It’s ideal from both a labor and transportation standpoint, as the location has a one-day delivery range for over 60 percent of the country.”

“As the center was originally built for a retailer servicing a large network of stores, we’ll reach out to similar occupants who might gain benefit from its location and expansive warehouse space,” added Kohn of Colliers Chicago office.

“The property offers ‘trans-loading’ opportunities as well,” said Canale, also with the Chicago office. “The property is on a dual-access short line that allows access to two Class-One railroads; something that is important to food and commodity distribution operations.”
